About SunnyvaleRocks.com

SunnyvaleRocks.com was initially inspired by the Music+Market Wednesdays held each year on Murphy Ave in Downtown Sunnyvale. Surely even the most casual observer would agree, with the music and the crowds and the lingering good times well beyond the official end of the event that Sunnyvale most certainly rocks, there was no question of that. Or was there?

Once one wanders around Sunnyvale a bit, though, it becomes clear that this is a big little city with plenty going on. The question then became, "How do we here in Sunnyvale find out what is going on, who do we tell, and what happens then?" There is a large newspaper that covers San Jose and the surrounding areas, there is a local paper published somewhere written by someone, and there are any number of online resources including city-maintained web sites, mailing lists, and of course word of mouth and other community and neighborhood communications.

This being the internet age of user generated content, we decided that if Sunnyvale Rocks, the people who live and work here should be able to share, discuss, describe, announce, and generally communicate online and express that fact. Of course, it's entirely possible that Sunnyvale does not Rock, but we remain optimistic.

So, welcome to an experiment in citizen journalism, social networking, user generated content, and maybe some online optimism. And please, please be patient as we develop and deploy new features and at the same time please let us know what we're doing right and what you would have us fix.

SunnyvaleRocks if you want it to, so write about it, take pictures and videos of it, and let's see what happens...
